For those of us of a certain age (old), we remember sitting in school on the morning of January 28, 1986 watching the Space Shuttle Challenger take off into the sky … and abruptly explode. It was shown on TVs in schools all across America. And it was, frankly, traumatizing.
One of the Challenger crew was a teacher, which is why we all watched. But she was just one crew member of seven. I don’t know if I knew who the other crew members were at the time and just forgot. Or if we weren’t really told much (or anything) about the rest of the crew.
But now — 40 years later — I took a look at all seven crew members for a 40-year memorial-style look at the incident for Life Story.
