I don’t think this book was written for me. That said, it was excellent at what it was.
As a new(ish) football fan and Gooner, I thought this would be a great way for me to bone up on some Arsenal FC history … and it was. There were chapters on origins, captains, strikers, goaltenders, etc. And each chapter included 10 fun facts. Those were the bits that I enjoyed.
Each chapter also included a quiz. That part didn’t suit me so well because I was literally just guessing. I’m not saying this was bad. But it didn’t work for me.
All in all, the book was a very quick read and I learned some things I didn’t know before. But this is NOT for the casual or new fan. This really is for hard core fans. FYI.
