Well. Looks like it’s 2009. And I have to go back to work today. I must admit, I’ve enjoyed my vacation, but I’ll also enjoy getting back into the swing of things and trying to make the world a better place (or whatever it is I do).
I’m not usually one for resolutions, but I actually have a few this year. Which is actually kind of funny, cause I think 2008 may have been the best year ever. But it’s not the year that needs improving. It’s me. I really want to try to eat a little better this year. I really want to work out a little more this year. And I really want to be more prepared and organized this year. Note: No promises to “lose 100 pounds” or “walk 20 miles a day.” Just little tweaks in my daily living. I think I can do that.
The year started awesome. A little Rose Parade. Some un-Christmasing the house. Some Winter Classic hockey (in HD and 5.1). Iron Man the movie. And then a great Sabres win over Toronto. Someone pointed out that there was some football on yesterday. But I have to be honest … I didn’t notice. And it looks like I’m not the only one who didn’t care.
But I do care about Saturday’s football. UB vs. Connecticut in the International Bowl just across the border in TO. (expect bridge delays). Followed by two NFL games. And if you’re into lacrosse, the Bandits kick the season off at HSBC Saturday night, too.
I’m tellin’ ya. Is this year gonna be great or what?
Of course, 2009 will be the year I ask the government for my bailout. I mean, why not? It looks like even newspapers are in line for their handout … er bailout. Gee. Wonder how the press will treat that?
Alright. I better go get dressed and drag my sorry butt to work. This morning I’m pretty much going to talk about all the crazy things that happened on my vacation, play some local music by Serenity Falls and interview the band. Tune in.
