Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Another reviewer said something to the effect of not being able to relate to the main character and I thought that was a strange thing to say. But when I started to listen, I got it.

Tender Branson lacks charisma, morals, and anything else that might make him a decent human being. Not only could I not relate, I don’t think ANYONE could relate. He just didn’t feel like a person who could really exist.

The WRITING was good. Chuck Palahniuk can definitely turn a phrase. And his pacing, as always, was great. But the story itself just left me wanting to stop. I did finish it, reluctantly. And I wish I had both my time and money back. But, hey, they can’t all be great, right?
