Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Despite being a middle-aged male and totally not who his books are written for, I truly enjoy John Green … usually. This one missed the mark with me.

The protagonist, Aza, has basically no redeemable qualities. I’m sure Green portrayed her that way to highlight her illness. But she’s just so unlikeable.

Also, the ending sucked.

I’ve seen a lot of reviews say the narrator was boring but I honestly feel she portrayed the characters as they were. And I found her ability to give distinct voices to the characters — especially the male ones — quite impressive.
