July 28th is the birthday of Beatrix Potter. So in her honor, I decided to record one of her wonderful animal tales. The main character, Mrs. Tiggywinkle, was reportedly named after her very own pet hedgehog.
In the story, a little girl named Lucie is looking for her lost handkerchiefs, which she tracks down to a literal hole in the wall run by an excessively tidy, prickly washerwoman. She eventually discovers that her neighborhood’s premier dry cleaning service is actually just a hedgehog in an apron running an underground laundering syndicate for forest animals.
