A bunch of news stories came across the wire that I found interesting. And if I found them interesting, I thought you might, too.

In the presidential race, former Virginia Governor Mark Warner officially recieved the Democratic nod for Senate on Saturday, telling supporters that he was not interested in being Barack Obama’s VP should it be offered.
Meanwhile, just a little south – in Tennessee – a Democratic US Rep said Obama has ties to terrorists. Wow. With Democrats like that, who needs Republicans.
Speaking of Republicans, the GOP hopes they found their stupid campaign photo moment … of Barack Obama in a bicycle helmet (above). Obama told a crowd at a recent Chicago fundraiser that he knew ahead of time that the GOP would try to make something of it … but he wore the helmet anyway, cause he didn’t want photos of him NOT wearing one … for the kids’ sake. for more on this, check here ….
One more on Obama … Colin Powell told the Globe and Mail that he may feel compelled to vote for Obama … and that Obama and McCain are both qualified.
And now to McCain …
He said on Saturday, “it can be tough to be proud of America.” I have to wonder if Hannity et al will pounce all over him. I won’t hold my breath.
And lastly, Rep. John Hall (D-N.Y.), the former lead guitarist for Orleans, has told John McCain to stop using one of the band’s songs. McCain was using “Still the One” at campaign events. Hall had previously asked Bush not to use the song either.
